RAK #39: Rodolfo Ayala-Ayala

This is the thirty-ninth of 49 random acts of kindness (RAKs) that I’m doing to honor the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting. Hopefully each small act puts a little bit of happiness back out in the world!

My college roommate is doing something very cool – for the 3rd year in a row. In her own words:

The season to give is right around the corner and I’m ready to continue our tradition with my kids! Every year, I put together Blessing Bags to donate to the NICU at UCSD. Please consider a $35 donation to sponsor a woman. (As an employee at UCSD in lab who works closely with the NICU, I would like to donate to the Moms who have babies in the NICU this holiday season to help bring a smile to their face). The bags would include M3Z spray and Soul (to help with anxiety and sleep), manicure items to help cheer them up, a card with their sponsor’s name and well wishes, and some other fun things to help them through their most trying days. Please let me know if you would like to sponsor a NICU Mom this holiday season.

If you’re interested in helping out, please let me know and I’ll connect you!

This RAK is in honor of Rodolfo Ayala-Ayala who was 33 and a native of Puerto Rico. He was known for his spirit around the office – always dancing and making everyone around him happy. Rest in peace Rodolfo.

RAK #24: Oscar A. Aracena-Montero

This is the twenty-forth of 49 random acts of kindness (RAKs) that I’m doing to honor the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting. Hopefully each small act puts a little bit of happiness back out in the world!

This was another fun one – I found an empty spot on the grocery store shelf and left a gift card there!

This RAK is in honor of Oscar A. Aracena-Montero. He was known as a bright, postitive student and was excited about his future goals. Rest in peace, Oscar.

A Fresh Start

You might notice that things look a little different around here… I’ve spent the last few weeks working on an overhaul of my blog. The new layout is cleaner and more organized, something I’ve been working on since I got my amazing Erin Condren Life Planner! I’m also working on getting my own domain name registered… stay tuned for more on that!

In the spirit of starting fresh, I’ll recap the kinds of things I’ll probably cover here:

  • Planning & organizing tips & tricks
  • All things equestrian
  • Yummy recipes I’ve tried and liked
  • Book, movie, and music reviews
  • Random bits of my life that I feel like sharing with the world

As always, feel free to comment and discuss! Hope you enjoy!

Brand New Blog

I’ve decided to give my blog a makeover and that includes moving it to Word Press. To be honest, I got pretty bored with Blogger and they have really limited a lot of what you can do. Word Press gives you the freedom to try a lot of different things and to customize your blog. So here we are. I’m contemplating moving all of the posts over from my Blogger blog, but we’ll see. I want to give this a solid try before I do that. Let me know what you think as we go… feedback (and comments!) are always appreciated!
